What is QR ordering? How table QR menus work

AppZet team4 min readLast updated 5 October 2026

How it works

Each table has its own QR code. When a guest scans it, the menu opens with that table already chosen, so the order reaches the kitchen with the right table number.

Why restaurants use it

Guests can look at the menu with photos at their own pace, your staff spend less time writing orders, and menu changes show at once without reprinting cards.

QR menu vs QR ordering

A QR menu only shows the menu. With QR ordering, guests can also place the order from their phone.

How AppZet Billing handles it
  • Every table gets its own QR code to download, print and stick on the table.
  • Guests scan it to see your menu and order to that table.
  • Make a new QR for a table if an old one is misused; the old one stops working.
  • QR ordering is part of the Premium plan.
