Online and dine-in ordering

What is direct ordering?

AppZet team4 min readLast updated 5 October 2026

How customers order direct

They scan your QR on a bill, table or parcel bag, or tap a link you shared on WhatsApp or Instagram. Your menu opens, they order and pay, and the order reaches your kitchen.

Why it saves money

Food delivery apps usually take 18% to 30% of the order plus GST on that commission. A direct order has no commission, only a payment fee if the customer pays online.

Keep the apps, move your regulars

Delivery apps are good at bringing new customers. Direct ordering works best for regulars who already know you.

How AppZet Billing handles it
  • Your own online store with your menu, prices and delivery charge, and no commission.
  • Customers can sign up, save addresses and see past orders, or order as guests.
  • Coupons, GST bills and KOTs work for online orders like any other order.

Frequently asked questions

Is direct ordering only for big brands?

No. Cafés, cloud kitchens and small restaurants gain the most, because commission hurts them most.

Who delivers direct orders?

Your own staff, a local delivery person, or the customer picks up.
