Service charge & tips

Service charge the right way

Switch on a service charge at the rate you choose. The cashier adds or removes it on each bill, GST is worked out correctly, and tips stay the guest's own choice.

  • Service charge off by default, you choose the rate
  • Cashier can add or remove it on a bill
  • GST is charged on it; tips are never taxed
  • Every add and remove is logged with who did it

The basics

Why make it removable?

A service charge a guest cannot refuse can be challenged. Making it a choice the cashier can remove keeps you on the safe side, and the log shows it was handled properly.

How it works

  1. 1 Open Service charge settings

Switch it on and set the rate.

  2. 2 Choose order types

    Dine in, pick up, delivery.

  3. 3 Bill as usual

Add or remove it on the bill, and add a tip.

  4. 4 Check the report

Totals and the log of removals.

Common questions

Is a tip taxed?

No. A tip is the guest's own choice and is never taxed.
