Numbers like ABC/26-27/0001 follow your financial year and start again each April.
Void and refund: what is the difference?
A void cancels a bill that should not have been made, for example a wrong order. A refund gives money back on a bill that was real, for example a returned dish.
Both leave a record, so an owner can see who did it and why, which is the best defence against bills disappearing at the counter.
