Kitchen and orders
What is a KDS? (Kitchen display system)
What a kitchen display shows
Each order appears as a ticket with its dishes, quantities and table or order number. Cooks mark tickets as they start and finish, so the counter can see what is ready without walking into the kitchen.
Why restaurants switch to a screen
Paper slips get lost, stained or misread. A screen keeps every open order in one place, in the order it arrived, and shows how long each one has been waiting.
Do you need special hardware?
Not always. A browser-based kitchen display runs on a tablet, laptop or smart TV you already have. Keep a printer if your cooks still like paper.
How AppZet Billing handles it
- The KOT board opens in any browser, on a tablet, laptop or TV in the kitchen.
- Filter by kitchen, so each station sees only its own tickets.
- Tickets move from Start preparing to Mark ready to Mark served.
- The kitchen display is included in the Standard and Premium plans.

Yes. Many kitchens use the screen and print a ticket when they need one.
Does the KDS need internet?
A browser-based kitchen display needs an internet connection to receive new orders.
